Artist Statement

My works are specialized in non-narrative, pattern-based flatness, thus creating unnatural worlds for viewers to travel through; as if like riding on a roller coaster, but instead of steel piping, it is through a combination of colors, textures, and symbolism that the aftermath becomes the amusement ride.  Creating swirling and straight motions within a visual plane that the viewers explore in diverse motions of directed pareidolia, as they can easily get lost in all the pizzazz that emanates the surfaces before them.  Within all the gaudy layers is an encoded language to be deciphered by those who stare and focus deeply into the fantasy landscapes of my mind as I attempt to harmonize the balance of configuration and composition through uniquely bold and colorful lines that reverberate through space.  Inviting the audience into a window that conveys images of unknown, euphoric worlds.  A world developed from the dregs of my indoctrinated mind and its ability to control my guiding hand to blossom many shapes built of blissful colors.    Exploring these odd auras and continental plates built through a process of terraforming paint and inks onto a surface in a result of imaginational jubilation.  These images of textural surroundings are providing an illusion for the observer’s eyes to send messages to their brains and conjure some sort of emotion out of the onlooker.  Any kind of reaction is feasible, but the one that I truly sought after is to provide amusement to the viewer. People tend to acknowledge or keep something close to their lives if they can find something uniquely amusing to them about it; and therefore, I believe art spreads its influential ways across generations of artists.   These free-flowing works designed during the chaotic moment of the minute are an amusing experience for me to engage with; and I am attempting to share this vivid enthusiasm to the crowd’s perception.
